Arangetram (அரங்கேற்றம்) is a Tamil word that literally translates to "ascending the stage." In the world of Bharatanatyam, it represents a dancer's debut solo performance after years of rigorous, disciplined training under a Guru.
It is more than just a recital; it is a graduation and a rite of passage. This performance marks the moment a student has mastered the intricate footwork, complex hand gestures (mudras), and expressive storytelling (abhinaya) required to perform a full repertoire independently.
This summer, we celebrate Nirali's and Kavya's as they share the fruits of their dedication, bringing ancient Indian classical traditions to life through music and movement.
Kavya is so awesome!
Nirali is so awesome!
